北国风光，

千里冰封，

万里雪飘。

望长城内外，

惟余莽莽；

大河上下，

顿失滔滔。

山舞银蛇，

原驰蜡象，

欲与天公试比高。

须晴日，

看红装素裹，

分外妖娆。

江山如此多娇，

引无数英雄竞折腰。

惜秦皇汉武，

略输文采；

唐宗宋祖，

稍逊风骚。

一代天骄，

成吉思汗，

只识弯弓射大雕。

俱往矣，

数风流人物，

还看今朝。

The Snow View Pavilion

The scenery of the northern country,

Thousand miles of icebound land,

Ten thousand miles of snowstorm.

Watching the Great Wall inside and outside,

Only the vast desolation remains;

Above and below the great river,

The surging waves suddenly disappear.

The mountains dance with silver snakes,

The field gallops with waxmade elephants,

Eager to compare with the heavens.

Under a clear day,

Watching the red dresses and white cloaks,

Particularly enchanting.

The landscape is so charming,

Drawing countless heroes to compete.

Pity the unmatched literary talent,

Of Emperor Qin and Han Wu;

Slightly inferior in poetic charm,

To the Tang and Song Dynasties.

The heroes of a generation,

Genghis Khan, for example,

Only knew how to hunt eagles with a curved bow.

All have passed away,

Many romantic figures of the past,

Let us look to the present.
